“A man with outward courage dares to die; a man with inner courage dares to live.” Lao Tzu

This quote has been pervading my way of being for a few weeks now. How might one dare to live? I have been asking myself this question repeatedly.

In my opinion, one lives successfully when outer triggers and circumstances cease to cause ripples in the mind. Being human brings emotions, reactions and responses. The aim and goal that I strive to live by is to center myself and bring myself to quiet and stillness in the least possible time period when such events occur.

This brings me to the next quote by Lao Tzu where he says: “To the mind that is still, the Universe surrenders”

This seems to be the recipe to create a powerful destiny.

Hope this resonates with you.

THE SUNFLOWER DANCE

I watched the Sunflower Dance, a moving and sensual dance performance by an Indigenous dance troupe. It moved my soul and was healing due to the energy that the dancers brought with them. It portrayed the symbiotic relationship of humans to nature from the lens of a sunflower seed. It brought to light how we humans abuse and torture our planet. The extreme weather conditions, tornadoes, typhoons, and earthquakes are a direct result of this.

There are several parallels that have been drawn between nature and humans from times immemorial. As I’m watching the leaves change color and begin to shed, the thought that I’m overcome with is about the humility of the leaf. Leaves provide energy to the tree from the sun’s light that they receive. The leaves then shed during the fall months to provide nutrients to the soil and protect the tree during the cold winter months by decaying. The leaf completely eliminates itself to provide nourishment to the tree.

We as humans cling to our assumptions, beliefs, and values based on the narratives that we hold on to so dearly.
This post is a reflection and question to each one of us about how easily we can let go of our egos that seem to dominate and control us. What is the impact that this has on our relationships and the collective consciousness as a whole? What does this do to our spirit and ways of being? Is it the best representative of the Light that we carry?

I’d love to hear your thoughts and comments to help us raise the collective consciousness as a whole.

LEARNINGS

My smart watch stopped working last week. I noticed how attached I had gotten to this little device. I observed how much I missed the possession. Its absence made me wish for the replacement to get to me at the earliest. The replacement too did not work by which time I was adjusting to being without my device. The frustration did not seem as heightened as earlier . This phenomenon led me to understand what is happening within me and to learn from this experience. Life is a mirror. Let’s understand this.

My insights:
>Why am I getting attached to any person, possession or situation?
>Live life in the moment. Enjoy what life gives me in the form of small pleasures and conveniences.
>Gratitude for an endless stream of love and support from my family, kindness and non judgmental care from my friends, as well as an amazing network of clients from over the last 30 years of being in service from whom I learn each day. Gratitude to be able to be in service.
>Surrender each happening and let the Universe do its magic. And magic did happen in the case of the health band being fixed.
>Last but not least, I have been able to consciously focus on the Infinite Power that supports me and each one on this planet.

We believe to be the doers. But are we really able to control? I leave you with this question today.

Have a blessed weekend.

GRATITUDE AT A VISCERAL LEVEL

A dear one lost her sense of smell following a short illness. She reported how relieving it was to regain that sense back. It brought to my mind the thought of how rigorously are we practicing gratitude on a daily basis? We tend to take so much for granted and most of us are living a life of entitlement, myself included. All our senses that have been given to us for specific functions are so often being abused. Let each one of us take an honest reflection of ourselves at this point.
The term “Waheguru” is beginning to be understood deeper and deeper for me each day. It is the practice of living in awe and wonder at the Light that is present in each one. The darkness of ignorance can be lifted each moment if one actually wishes to tune into the creative powers of this vast universe. It is the sense of appreciation and acceptance one experiences of each phenomenon, good or bad. The planets, sun, moon, galaxies, forests, rivers, lakes and oceans are all here to serve us if we simply allow them to do their job.
Let us all pledge to live from this space of awe and wonder where we honor the Light within each one.

AM I TRULY SO?

These lines have been pervading my way of being these past weeks.

Why do I feel the tension, contraction, tightness?
Have I truly forgiven myself or the other?
Have I truly stopped judging?
Have I truly practiced kindness?
Have I truly given myself dignity as much as I give others?
Have I truly accepted the other unconditionally?

These questions help me shift the uneasiness that I might be experiencing on certain days. The underlying virtue of truth and honesty are being practiced rigorously.

Let us explore our relationship with truth this week. Is it truly truth or are we in denial? You shall receive your answers.

Truthfully,

LESSONS FROM THE BENEVOLENT UNIVERSE

Dearest Treasures

I recently experienced betrayal of trust leading to a tremendous amount of pain. I observed with zero reaction, setting firm boundaries with a clear line of communication. I sat with this pain and suffering by simply noticing. My daily practices and rituals, exercises, wholesome diet, and work continued as normal. I strived to stay centered, kind, and loving in the process. I understood with faith, trust and a spirit of surrender to the perfection that the universe is conspiring. It was in the head and took a while to reach the heart.

After a few days, I was listening to a beautiful poem and the realization I experienced was how each one is an extension of the Divine itself. There is no difference between me and the other. The other is simply mirroring me to stay detached, peaceful, loving and kind. The feeling and opening that I experienced in the heart was phenomenal. I have not come so far to be this far and the journey continues.

Stay in the present moment and observe practicing acceptance no matter how painful the experience might be. It shall serve you well.

WALKING MEDITATION

Dearest Precious Treasures. Hope you’re all doing very well. I’ve just returned from a road trip to the Dolomites with my dearest friend Iza. Gratitude from my heart space. As I was walking around the lake in solitude reflecting and contemplating, the words that came up for me instinctively were Tat Twam Asi which translates into I Am That. I am not my thoughts, I am not my emotions, I am something bigger. Use this practice to manifest peace and calm. Move from the head into the heart instinctively. You shall be well guided. Go into the walking meditation on Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/show/70VpbvZZ9Nd6huFkqR68K5?si=1XHKibA-ThCrwY6dw0SsyQ). It shall take you there. MANAGING TWO OPPOSITE POLARITIES

Ego is given to us to give ourselves the dignity that we deserve and owe ourselves. When healthy and not based on fear, it helps a being to discern, set boundaries, and protect oneself. Humility is given to us in order to manage our responses and stop us from being triggered by repetitive patterns, persons and situations. It helps us take a step back, observe and run our lives as independent adults.

Take a moment and reflect on how things would be if we eliminated ego. How might we protect ourselves if we had no ego? Food for thought this weekend. #ego #humility #opposites #responses #management transformative solutions #namaste #fear #saturdaymotivation #weekendvibes

ANXIETY AND PANIC ATTACKS

I had an interesting coaching conversation where a client repeatedly experienced anxiety and panic attacks when triggered by outside circumstances. We detected and diagnosed her relationship to questioning authoritative figures in her life journey. Once she understood the belief that was stopping her from speaking up, we went on to find solutions and best practices.

This week, let us examine our relationship to authority. Several cultures instill fear and terrorize from a place of power and gender inequality. The consequences are wide and varied for those at the receiving end. It inhibits the possibilities that each one of us comes with and kills the creativity that is present within each of us.

Once we understand our default ways of reacting, we can work on best practices that help based on our comfort zone levels. Responses can be devised and tailor made to live life from our full potential.

Hope this post inspires some as we take matters in our own hands rather than falling prey to others.

ARE YOU RESISTING CHANGE?

Change is inevitable. We as humans react In different ways to change. This quote by Socrates seems appropriate:

“If you don’t get what you want , you suffer; if you get what you don’t want, you suffer, even when you get exactly what you want you suffer because you can’t hold onto it forever. Your mind is your predicament. It wants to be free of change, free of pain, free of the obligations of life and death. But change is law and no amount of pretending will alter that reality.”

As human beings, we resist change in a big way. Our brains are designed to control and predict. When change does happen in our lives, we resist and yet believe that we are in acceptance with surrender. In reality, we are not. The past few years has shown me how I have been resisting reality, the change that was inevitable and imminent. The moment this resistance dropped, life regained to be blissful as it’s meant to be.

Notice what you are resisting. Open yourselves to change and practice flexibility in order to enjoy each moment as it is unfolding.
