It seems to me that the Universe is teaching me to rigorously start practicing compassion and kindness towards others. It helps me overcome my idea of the limited self to tap into the universal Consciousness that reverberates in both sentient and non sentient beings. This helps me in truly practicing the emotion of love.
One afternoon, at a small place that I go to regularly, my lunch order came out wrong. The owner and chef had remembered my order but had prepared something different. I went up to him and simply mentioned it out of surprise but told him not to worry.
He later brought me some extras to compensate for the mistake, which was very sweet and kind. He shared with me how his mother was very ill and in the hospital. This confirmed to me a practice that I have been following for a while now, which is that every time something out of the ordinary happens, I put myself in the other person’s shoes and truly awaken the feeling of kindness and compassion. I remind myself that each one is on their own journey and that I have zero business to focus on others.
