I was speaking to a sailor friend who shared this quote with me “You cannot control the wind but can adjust your sails”
The family went through a challenge recently and I was fortunate to be a medium giving them my support. The first step they needed to take was acceptance of the breakdown. Once they accepted the challenge, they started working toward possible solutions. They did not give up and fought valiantly. The lived in the present moment and received a magical solution after a pretty bumpy ride.
Life requires both pushing forward and letting go. It is managing the tension between these polarities.
How will you adjust your sails despite the wind of turbulence being very strong?
I hope this short story inspires many of my loyal readers.
Our outside world is simply a reflection for each one of us. Please remember this and pay attention to how your words are being perceived and received by the people surrounding you. Take special care and consideration towards your loved ones. We tend to ignore our near and dear ones the most. These relationships must be nurtured and cherished the most.
I have become extra careful and sensitive to my family more than ever before and I feel so grateful to have 2 loving and kind daughters who give me honest feedback with unconditional love and care. Once I know what hurts them, I am very careful to manage my reactions and responses. Each one is a product of one’s circumstances and cultural narratives that he has been brought up in.
Letting go of that to define my relationships has been a magical journey for me. Gratitude to the two very special beings and their beautiful partners for being present in my life journey.
Hope this post inspires some of you to make small tweaks in your life path. Your experiences shall be transformative, I can assure you.
In the spirit of service with utmost humility, Prerna
This short prayer/poem was shared with me by one of my coach colleagues Stell Anderson during my time at Newfield Network Colorado USA in 2012. The powerful words of this extraordinary poem resonate deeply with my way of being. I recite this quietly several times during the day. It brings me a great level of peace and comfort. It reminds me on a daily basis to live my life weaving surrender, trust, faith and devotion in the very fabric of my being.
As we were waiting patiently to pay at the grocery store with my daughter over the holidays, my heart went out to the lady who was clearly a trainee learning on the job. When our turn arrived after an unusually long wait, she apologized profusely trying to provide an explanation. I looked her directly in the eye and told her that it was clear to me that she was new on the job and reassured her that we must all exercise patience to help her learn during these challenging times where every second person is down with the omicron variant. The look of love and gratitude that I received back was precious and priceless. I had clearly made her day. These experiences inspire me on a daily basis to become a better version of myself each day. The kindness that we give out to others makes us feel good. Is this not enough incentive for many of us to practice gentleness of spirit? What will you resolve to practice with relentless grit and rigor this week? Please comment below or message me directly as many of you already do.
I had one day during the holidays where I was out of center. As a result, I did not have an amazing day like I always do. I went to bed resolving that I would do better the next day. As I always say, intentions create reality.
I received an extremely powerful feeling within every cell of my being during my yoga practice the next morning. I recognized viscerally how yesterday was gone and that I could do absolutely nothing to bring it back. It sounds so trivial but the feeling was like an electric shock within my being. I recognized the power of the present moment from a different dimension. It strengthened my resolve to truly live every single minute with conscious awareness and powerful presence during 2022.
I shared my feelings with my visiting daughter who too got inspired by my sharing. I hope that I have succeeded in inspiring some of you. What will your practice be?
This meditation is a powerful learning experience that the practitioner can take away. Breath, the Life Force within us imparts some very important lessons. Let us get inspired and live life from what the Force is teaching us. Humbly, Prerna
I noticed a mildly abusive word that came through the gate of my mouth a few weeks ago. I could not fathom to understand how this could happen despite strict discipline, practices and a meditative morning that preceded this incident. This caused a huge turbulence within me. I wished to get to the root of this. I continued the journey of being and received my answer. The root cause was the elevated sense of self that I was strutting around like a proud peacock. Learning humility whilst completely annihilating the ego has been the lesson of this year for me. The following lines from the eight verses of training the mind helped me ground myself. I stumbled upon the lines the previous evening and the Universe very kindly gave me the insight in the early hours of the morning the following day. I humbly share these with you.
1) By thinking of all sentient beings As more precious than a wish-fulfilling jewel For accomplishing the highest aim, I will always hold them dear.
2) Whenever I’m in the company of others, I will regard myself as the lowest among all, And from the depths of my heart Cherish others as supreme.
3) In my every action, I will watch my mind, And the moment destructive emotions arise, I will confront them strongly and avert them, Since they will hurt both me and others
I am grateful to a very dear soul sister who shared this quote with me from the Art of Dreaming where Don Juan tells Carlos:
“… most of our energy goes into upholding our importance… If we were capable of losing some of that importance, two extraordinary things would happen to us. One, we would free our energy from trying to maintain the illusory idea of our grandeur; and two we would provide ourselves with enough energy to … catch a glimpse of the actual grandeur of the universe.”
The Art of Dreaming by Carlos Castaneda
I couldn’t agree more with this powerful and profound quote. The journey is one of tremendous humility and looking inward. We are focused on creating the most perfect spouse, child, colleague, family member or friend. The arrow must be reversed in our direction. Only then will change and transformation happen.
What will your practice be from now on? I guarantee joy, peace and bliss on your behalf provided you are sincere in your practices.
Like many of you hear me say all the time: “we are what we practice”.
I woke up to this message from a very dear being one beautiful morning. “Real is rare! False is everywhere”! As I was pondering upon why this resonated deeply within my being, I concluded that there is a large disconnect between our inner and outer world. In our race to prove ourselves, we have forgotten the importance of honesty and authenticity. We speak untruthfully and are not congruent with ourselves. We compete, we want to show others how great we are. We give ourselves way too much importance when we are actually suffering inside. As a result, our souls are being depleted at a rapid pace.
It’s time to start being honest with ourselves. This is a golden era to transform. We have technology at our fingertips that gives us access to an abundance of ancient wisdom. Tap into yourselves and begin your journey of transformation to experience the bliss and peace that you are.
