SPEND TIME WITH SELF

I noticed annoyance and irritation upon waking up one morning. I simply observed myself. The tasks that normally felt so good to accomplish seemed a burden. I noticed a heaviness in my chest area and my monkey mind desperately tried to hijack me.

I continued my day being kind and loving in my interactions and treated myself like someone that needed tender loving care. The issue that had been simmering on my back burner for months always seemed to creep up and I kept it at bay.

Waking up the next morning after a good night’s rest was a true blessing. My meditation practice gave me the answer to my question that I had placed at the feet of the Universe the previous night. I felt light, grateful and free to experience the richness of my practices.

My take away was to spend time with myself and connect with breath. Start living a life of awareness and gratitude every minute of the day.

EXPECTATIONS 2.0

As I was waiting patiently to cross the street one afternoon during my after lunch walks, the driver kindly stopped to let me go even though it was not a zebra crossing. My first thought and response was of tremendous gratitude and joy to experience this gesture by a kind human. I reflected on how we are overjoyed when we have no expectations. A few seconds later, a driver drove past a pedestrian crossing paying no attention to the pedestrians waiting to cross over. He was clearly clueless and driving unconsciously. The loud and clear message for me that afternoon was to completely let go of expectations. Each one is on his individual journey and gives us tremendous opportunities to grow. The other is a direct mirror reflection which we need. Expectations creep in unconscious ways if one is not aware enough. This leads to internal turbulence which is quite yucky to witness. Stay free of expectations, accept every moment as it’s manifesting to experience joy and bliss. Start becoming more aware of what expectations remain unfulfilled and befriend those emotions without resistance.

DIWALI 2021 MID WEEK SPECIAL

My dearest readers Diwali is here yet again. It is indeed a beautiful festival which I have grown up witnessing year after year during my childhood spent in India. What is the true essence of Diwali?

For me, this Festival of Lights comes in every year to remind us to light the lamp within ourselves with the oil of breath that has been given to us. Let us connect to the life force that is present within each one of us. Every time, I succumb to a vice that has been overpowering me I am moving away from lighting the lamp. Let us, this year pledge to get rid of one vice that has been with us for a long time. If we do so, we have been successful in celebrating this Deepavali.

SPARKLE LIKE A DIAMOND

Envy and jealousy if handled with a robust understanding can serve as an engine to recognize what is missing in one’s life. They become the motivating factor for many to fulfill their goals and targets. One of my clients, with the help of coaching, recognized this trait in herself and converted it to purity. Exercising rigorous practices, she exuded radiance on her face that was evident from the first minute of our conversation. The calm confidence that emanated from her was something I had never seen before.

Being on the receiving end of another’s wrath, envy or jealousy can similarly help one reach a high level of purity. The virtues of accepting, letting go of expectations, and understanding and living in the present moment, can bring out the hidden wisdom and courage present in each one of us.

It is time to stop living from a victimized state. Stand up for yourself and make powerful requests. Pledge to sparkle like a diamond in its purest state.

ARE YOU CHALLENGING THE BASIC REALITIES OF LIFE?

It strikes me how often we as a human race are interfering in the works of Nature. I often hear comments on how a being does not appreciate the short days and long nights during winter.

Do we recognize that we are in non acceptance of the basic realities of life and nature? Are we truly serving ourselves? Might we train our minds to think and act from a constructive and wholesome space?

The intellect has been given to us to run and plan our lives to the extent it is possible. We have ended up abusing this privilege. It’s time to change my dears. Once you become a rigorous observer, I guarantee peace, joy, tranquility and bliss into your lives. Give it a good shot this week. You might be truly surprised.

APPRECIATION SCAVENGER

It is generally observed how we as humans tend to appreciate the gifts of life very little. Every time we appreciate tasting a delicious meal, seeing a pretty flower or listening to sweet music, we are connecting to Life Force at a deep level..The experience of living life from this space is euphoric.

My intention this week was to become an appreciation scavenger in order to connect with being-ness further. The results have been quite beautiful.

Please give it a go this week and feel free to write me your findings.

THE JACKHAMMER OF LIFE

It was a beautiful late fall morning when I went for a walk amidst nature this week. An extremely loud and unpleasant noise drew my attention to workers sweating as they broke stone. I thought about how our unhealthy and unproductive habit patterns are exactly like that piece of stone that refused to budge. Why do we do so? We get used to patterns, narratives, habits, and practices that cause us to suffer again and again. The jackhammer of life is attempting to help us change. Sadly, we are in the ferris wheel of ups and downs. When will this be enough for us? What can help us break out of this?
My first tip is to start becoming aware of ourselves, our surroundings, and our relationships. Let us start listening more and speaking less. This is the first step to start understanding others, their perceptions, actions and ways of being.
Practicing this for a few weeks shall bring about a big change in your internal environment.

LIFE TEACHES AT EVERY STEP

I watched a live performance by one of my most favorite artists a few weeks ago. I noticed the person sitting by his side giving him looks which I perceived as nasty. Immediately, I reminded myself how important it is to soften my look with the eyes that we have graciously been given to love each one. It was a wonderful reminder and learning for me.

I have spent the last weeks practicing this consciously. Love oozing out of my eyes even under a mask. My inner world has become tranquil and kind.

A small practice and change works wonders. Let us learn every minute of our lives.
