My conversations this week have been revolving around anger. How might we manage when anger hits us and sends us flying to the ceiling.

Let us understand that anger is an important emotion. It tells us what truly matters to us. What are the values that matter to us. The problem occurs when we allow anger to control us and overpower our well being.

I have a simple mantra

Righteousness or well being? What is more important for me?

Well being is the winner most times. What will your question be to overcome anger?

This week I’d like to appreciate the persons who are working behind the scenes to bring forth my thoughts and reflections to each one of you in a timely and professional manner.

My lovely daughters Juhi and Vriddhi who edit the posts diligently every week, lovely Raul and Juhi who send me relevant pictures that they have taken over the years.

I’d also like to say a big thank you to dearest Anita and Ozan. Anita translates the posts to Hungarian as regularly as she can manage. Ozan my trooper bears with me patiently. He’s prompt, reliable and extremely kind. He is the one who manages the social media page for me. As many of you who know me know how limited my technical skills are. I would not be able to bring my thoughts to you if it were not to my dedicated team of beautiful Beings.

I bow down in love and reverence to each one of you.

Once again we are in the festive season. Gratitude!

As I was reflecting on my message to you today, this one thought appears fiercely in my way of Being.

The intelligence is a magnificent tool that we humans possess. Are we using this intelligence like we are meant to? Many of us allow this tool to control us. It must be the other way round.

I aspire that each one of us lights this ability of discernment with sharpness within ourselves as we enter the festive season.

May we light the lamp of self awareness with rigor. This is my invitation to all of you.

Kindness to Self Weekend

Many of my conversations this week revolved around how we as a human race are incapable of being kind to ourselves. We are constantly in service towards our loved ones without even exploring the capacity to show a small amount of kindness to self.

The reason this happens is that we do not value ourselves enough. This also happens when we subconsciously sabotage ourselves under the mask of modesty, humility, service, compliance etc.

My invitation to each one of you is to start doing something small that demonstrates kindness towards YOU. Notice how this small shift affects your entire Being. Value yourself, love yourself no matter how hard it may be in the beginning. The rewards will be enormous.

My practice this week has been to consciously remind myself to stay laser focused on Life as it unfolds. We pay a lot of unnecessary attention and give energy to unwholesome processes and persons that cause us pain. As the Buddhist philosophy teaches us, by doing this we are absolving the other of their negative karma and burdening ourselves instead.

The mind is bound to play its movie but you can stay silent in the seat of the observer by witnessing it unfold without participation.

My one ‘go to’ practice this week has been to stay as an observer to my thoughts. Every time a self sabotaging thought occurs that wants to drag me down the path of being a victim, I STOP and consciously change my perspective. This has proven to be extremely powerful and transformative.

My Inner Motivation

As I was biking with Snow White to see my dearest friend and hairdresser this morning, two bikers were biking towards me at high speed without taking into consideration the narrow road that we were on. Of course I slowed down. My safety and well being was my inner motivation.

When I encounter situations in life that do not align with my standards and expectations, I examine and ask myself what my inner motivation is. I remind myself the reason of my actions and I am transported immediately to a space of peace. 

As humans we experience turbulence in our emotional domain. It is quite normal. How we navigate those choppy waters helps us land back on our feet. 

What is your inner motivation that prompts you to be the person you are?

This might be a useful practice to observe for this week. What do you think?
