Weekend Post

My week began with a part of my tooth breaking off. It was extremely uncomfortable and my tongue was in danger of being cut or bitten by the sharpness of the broken tooth. I was required to work and speak during the day and noticed huge discomfort. I was extremely blessed to receive an emergency appointment with my dear dentist who was working that afternoon. I was thankful to not have to reschedule any work-related appointments.

As the day passed in discomfort, I recognized yet again how blessed we are with the human body. Every small part works seamlessly and in harmony. When sickness hits us, something begins to malfunction.

My takeaway is as follows: As humans, we try to control and micromanage every aspect of our lives. In turn, we end up jeopardizing our well-being. The power that keeps the world going is perfectly capable of taking care of us.

Why do we interfere? What will your small practice be to recognize when you are going against nature and doing yourself more harm than good?

Prayer

Tamaso ma jyotirgamaya
Lead me from darkness to Light.

The prayer that comes to me repeatedly is the above. This has been the one practice that my Being has been indulging in this week. I have focused on my heart chakra and there’s a lightness of Being.

I urge you to practice. Your life, Being, leadership style will experience power and transformation.

Weekend Musings

The mind and intelligence are necessary tools to conduct our lives. The error we humans make is to abuse these tools when we recognize that life is not moving in accordance to the way our mind and intelligence expect. This is when we must learn the tool of detachment, surrender and the art of simply Being.

My ‘go to’ practice is firmly rooting myself in the present moment, a morning yoga practice and journaling. What will yours be?

A hibát akkor követjük el, amikor tévesen használjuk ezeket az eszközöket, mert rájövünk, hogy az élet nem abba az irányba halad, amelyet az elménk és az intelligenciánk elvár. Ekkor kell megtanulnunk a szétválasztás, megadás eszközét és a szimplán csak lenni művészetét.

LOVE

As I sit in prayer, contemplation this morning, the one word that comes to me is LOVE.

It is indeed a powerful emotion, once learnt it can work wonders. The more you give of it, the better you feel.

How are you going to love this week? Will you marinate love with expectations? Or will you love because it makes you feel good?

My experience has been powerful over the holidays when I simply loved despite my mind. Are you willing to conquer your mind by giving yourself just the right amount of care? Learning to stay away from feelings of resentment. It might be quite magical.

Ahogy a reggeli imámban, elmélkedèsemben ülök, a SZERETET szó jön hozzám.

Egy erőteljes érzelem, ami csodákat képes művelni. Minél többet adsz belőle, annál jobban érzed magad.

Hogyan fogsz szeretni ezen a héten? Élvárásokkal fogod övezni a szeretetet? Vagy azért fogsz szeretni, mert jobban érzed magad tőle?

Az én tapasztalatom nagyon erőteljes volt az ünnepek alatt, szimplán szerettem annak ellenére, amit az elme mondott. Meghódítod az elméd azzal, hogy megfelelő mennyiségű törődést adsz magadnak? Megtanulni, hogyan kerüljük el a neheztelés érzését… varázslatos tud lenni.

Staying Present

As I’m observing clients, friends at holiday events and end of year sessions I am noticing many of them are already in the future. Some are nervous about the holidays, some feel overwhelmed and some are busy finishing off their last minute duties hurriedly. They speak fast, they speak loud, they are simply rushing around.

I have been noticing clutter and noise as well but my one practice this week has been to stay truly connected with the present moment no matter what it is bringing forth. It has served me well.

I urge you to connect with the present moment and let that stick to your Being like sticky tape. It will soon become a habit. Consciously feel the taste of food and drink during the holidays and enjoy every bite with your loved ones.

Find stillness in your busyness

As I’m winding down after a busy yet productive week, the mantra that I’ve found myself repeating a lot is to find the stillness in the busyness. How can we manage these two opposites? This is the paradox of life. Once we learn this, we are playing on the field of life. Magic reveals itself every minute and physical fatigue seems distant.

How will you find stillness in your busyness a week before the holidays? What will you practice? My practice has been to be present, to breathe consciously more, to stay away from too much screen time.

Találd meg a nyugalmat a pörgésben.

Kezdek lazítani egy pörgős, de produktív hét után. A mantra, amit sokat mondogattam magamnak ez volt: Találd meg a nyugalmas a pörgésben. Hogyan tudjuk kezelni ezt a két ellentétet? Ez az élet paradoxa. Amikor megtanuljuk, akkor játszunk az élet mezején.  A csoda minden percben felfedi saját magát, és a testi fáradtság távolinak tűnik.

Hogyan fogsz nyugalmat találni a pörgésben egy héttel az ünnepek előtt? Mi lesz a gyakorlatod? Az én gyakorlatom az volt, hogy a pillanatban voltam, többet lélegeztem tudatosan és elkerültem a sok képernyő előtt töltött időt.

This quote has been pervading my Being this week. We make the choices to serve ourselves in the best possible manner. Most of our sadness arises due to clinging to the past, happenings that we cannot change. Let us learn from our mistakes and become wiser with every passing day.

What will you do to become strong and master the self this week? My practice has been to be a rigorous soldier managing my inner thoughts, narrative in order to serve myself.

Mit fogsz tenni, hogy erős legyél és megfékezd magad ezen a héten? Az én gyakorlatom az volt, hogy szigorú katonaként felügyeltem és igazgattam a belső gondolataimat, azért hogy szolgáljam magam.

The Sikh scripture Japji Sahib talks about self discipline. The conversations over the past couple of weeks with leaders has been revolving around this virtue, one of the key drivers of a successful life.

What can we do to instill self discipline within ourselves every single day?

My practice is to create a check list of duties, tasks that I’d like to accomplish on a daily basis and I strive everyday to stick to my rituals and practices. I find the quality of my life has certainly elevated as a result.

What will you promise yourself to practice this week? I suggest that you create a chart listing your desired goals for the week and post it up on your vision board at home or at work.

A Szikh szentírás Japji Sahib beszél az önfegyelemről. Az elmúlt hetek vezetőkkel történő beszélgetéseinek központjában ez az erény állt, mint az egyik kulcsfontosságú mozgatórugója a sikeres életnek.

Mit tehetünk, hogy magunkba csepegtessük az önfegyelmet minden egyes nap?

Az én gyakorlatom az, hogy készítek egy listát a feladatokról, amiket el akarok végezni, aztán minden megteszek azért, hogy a minden nap elvégezzem a gyakorlataimat, rituáléimat.

Milyen gyakorlat mellett teszel ígéretet erre a hétre? Azt javaslom, hozz létre egy táblázatot a heti vágyott céljaiddal és tedd ki otthon vagy a munkahelyeden.

Weekend Post

The question many of us often ask ourselves.

Am I good enough, clever enough, capable enough, pretty enough, thin enough? This question helps us stay focused towards becoming a better version of ourselves.

The quality that differentiates the doer from the over thinker is that he acknowledges this thought/fear and is constantly doing his best.

The following quote comes to my mind this Saturday morning.

“It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs; who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.”
